PROJECT & PROBLEM

Project Details

Problem

User has difficulty understanding loading time and how data is presented and conceived. There was no visual aspect to the empty states in dashboard panels.

Users Mental Model

Users are familiar with the application and expect to experience wait times in between the flows to keep them engaged.

Problem This Solves

It greatly improves the user experience by helping visually explain complex features and delight the user.

PROCESS

Competetive Research

Explored different icons and illustrations for inspiration to start bench marking. Goal was to keep a minimal design/aesthetic to fit the FIS guidelines.

Current State Analysis

Created the animated skeleton loader for the Business Hub Dashboard, along with all the illustrations for empty states and error states for different scenarios.

Concepts

Designed a consistent look for the illustrations so they can be used for any scenario. I designed them in a way that we can grab any of those illustrations and use them for any empty state. The illustrations were designed by keeping accessibility and guidelines in mind.

Socialization

Reviewed with the product team and relevant stakeholders to get feedback for iteration.

Next Steps

  • Continue iterating the visual design for Business Hub Dashboard panels to improve the aesthetics / look and feel of these states.

  • Begin user-testing for the illustrated flows.

  • Currently working on the discovery phase of Admin Modernization of D1 Business.

Why: There is a need to present new and updated terms and conditions for digital banking to all digital banking users so they can view and accept in such a way that is enforceable and creates an audit trail, regardless of the end user's role within D1 Business.

What: New features being introduced, along with regulatory requirements, stating that all digital banking users must accept new terms and conditions or an update in order to use a service.

Efforts: Benchmarking, created wire-frames, did ADA compliance, proposed new design solutions to be added to component library.

Next Steps: Development, gather both client and stakeholder feedback.
